Fragrance samples: try before you buy

Choosing a perfume is personal, and the only way to know if you love it is to wear it on your own skin. Fragrance samples let you try luxury, niche and designer scents for days at a time, so you can experience how they develop and last before committing to a full bottle. They're also a smart way to explore new houses and build a fragrance wardrobe on a budget.

Why try samples?

• Avoid expensive mistakes by testing before buying a full size.
• Discover niche houses that are hard to find in stores.
• See how a scent wears on your skin over a full day.
• Travel-friendly: take several scents on holiday.

How to test a fragrance sample

1. Apply to clean skin on your wrist or neck.
2. Notice the top notes, then check again after 30 minutes and a few hours.
3. Wear one scent per day to judge it fairly.
4. Pay attention to how you feel and the compliments you get.
